  Welcome to the webpage of the Sul Ross Camp #1457, a brotherhood of about 40 local men descended from Confederate Veterans and committed to preserving the memory of these Southern heroes and the Cause for which they fought and  sacrificed so much.

 We meet monthly on the fourth Thursday (*) of each month at 6:30 pm  at Shortee's Shack Cafe, 4248 Boonville Rd, Bryan, Texas.  We order from the menu and begin the meeting, usually with an interesting speaker on some aspect of the history of the War or the 1861-65 era, about  7:00-7:30 pm.

The public is always welcome.

(*) Note: We don't hold our regular meeting in November or  December, and we have a special meeting in January on the Saturday nearest Confederate Heroes Day instead of our regular 4th Thursday meeting.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans is a genealogical-historical organization dedicated to preserving the history and honoring the memory of our Confederate ancestors. The SCV is the direct heir of the United Confederate Veterans, and the oldest hereditary organization for male descendants of Confederate soldiers. Organized at Richmond, Virginia, in 1896, the SCV continues to serve as a historical, patriotic, and non-political organization dedicated to insuring that a true history of the 1861-65 period is preserved.
