Confederate Headstones Dedicated in Washington Cemetery
SCV Camp 1565, 13th Texas Infantry, and 1st Texas Volunteer reenactors participated in the dedication of 14 Confederate headstones at old Washington Cemetery in Houston, Texas March 22, 2003. The compatriots served as color guard and honor guard for the ceremony. Past Camp Commander, and Texas Division 1st Lt. Commander Ron Strybos Jr. delivered the dedication address.

Camp color guard posted the colors accompanied by pipers and two cannon salutes from the San Jacinto Chapter, Sons of the Republic of Texas batteries. The honor guard fired the first of 28 volleys. The 14 graves were visited by the unit, and a brief history of each Confederate soldier interred there was given. They fire nine 3 gun salutes during this ceremony.

Several other SCV Camps and UDC Chapters were present. Approximately 100 participants and visitors were present.
